Cost of Education & Accommodation in UK
The cost of education in UK is relevantly high in comparison to the India. The tuition fee depends on the university and course you selected. Average annual college fee ranges from £12000 to £15000*. In London and South England, the cost of living and studying is relatively high in comparison to other cities of UK. Students often face problem to find a suitable accommodation at less cost. The university accommodation is less costly than private accommodation. As per the rules of The UK’s Study Route (tire-4), a student who is studying in degree level and above can-do maximum work for 20 hours in a week. Full-time work is only permitted during the vacations.

UK Admission Guideline

For pursuing higher Education in the UK, the institutes of UK offer Numerous types of scholarship to students. These scholarships are provided at different levels like undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs. There are two intakes in UK Universities:

September – October intake and January – February intake. In April- May intake for a few courses.

The Process
Minimum language proficiency: in one of the following language exams: – IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent. Student needs to appear for English language skill exam and meet the minimum language requirement as outlined in the chosen course/university
English Language exam waiver is offered if the student has studied a degree level course of a minimum of two years in English
Minimum education qualification such as high school degree or other equivalents
Other course requirements (if any) such as enrolment in the art or architecture courses requires submission portfolio of the previous artwork
Submit the application and wait for the offer letter from the University (turnaround time can be 2 – 4 weeks). Almost every university in UK requests for credibility interview with the student.
Receive offer letter Universities in the UK provide both conditional and unconditional offer letter
In case of conditional offer letter, student needs to fulfil the conditions requested by the university
In case of unconditional offer letter, the student needs to satisfy the requirements outlined in the letter, including payment of enrolment fees and other requirements.
In case conditional offer letter: Once all the conditions are fulfilled wait for complete offer letter/ unconditional offer letter
Receive Confirmation of Acceptance (CAS) from the University
Once Confirmation of Acceptance (CAS) is received, student can proceed with Visa application procedure such as:
Undertake Medical test
Secure a student visa
Note: The chosen University must be approved by www.gov.uk to proceed with student visa application.

Steps for Application for Study Visa

Before applying for the study route, the student must;
Have CAS i.e., Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies from the respective University
provide evidence of funds needed to pay the course fee for at least one academic session of 9 months and it will be support living for at least 9 months
qualify English language proficiency test i.e., Secure English Language test (SELT), as per the eligibility criteria
Pay the health surcharge to access the UK’s National Health Service
Secure supporting documents for application
Valid travel documents such as passport
CSA
ATAS certificates, if required
Proof of legal guardian and relationship if student is under 18 years.
Apply for student route visa online
Register with UKCAS and upload all the required documents
Pay the visa application fee and attend the appointment, if asked
General student visa (Tier 4) fee: £348 * (Subject to change)
Short-term study visa: £97 (6-month visa) * (Subject to change)
Post Study Work Permit in UK
As per the recent update of British Council, an international student who have completed graduation or post-graduation degree can apply for post study visa from 1 July, 2021. Students who completed PhD can apply for three years post study visa.
